Diameter 34 cm. Height 10 cm.
Good vintage condition with minor imperfections at the rim.
Stamped with makers’ mark at the bottom.
Denijs Goossens (born 1939, Waarschoot, Belgium) is a Belgian sculptor and educator known for his work in wood, stone, marble, and bronze. Trained at the academies of Eeklo, Ghent, and Antwerp, he studied under artists such as Achiel Pauwels and Olivier Strebelle, and traveled widely through Europe and Japan to refine his craft. His style ranges from figurative to abstract,with recurring themes like Mother and Child. Alongside his artistic practice, Goossens taught for over three decades and served as director of the Eeklo Academy of Fine Arts. His public monuments, including the Vinkt war memorial, stand as enduring contributions to Belgian cultural heritage.
