Brutalist artwork originally created as studies for Soviet Architecture. We bought this from an art historian who purchased this at auction. The seller was  the son of the artist Viktor Gottfried, who was a Volga German in Siberia. Viktor Gottfried created these series of brutalist work as studies for larger scale architectural elements for Soviet Brutalism buildings. This work was created in the 1970’s and was framed by Gottfried’s son in 2018 before it came up for auction.52 x 62,5 x 4 cm.
