Boy & Erik Stappaerts, often referred to by the initials "BES," is a Belgian artist born in 1969 in Antwerp, where he continues to live and work. Though the name suggests a duo, it's actually one individual: "Boy" represents the artistic, conceptual side, while "Erik" handles production and execution.

He studied at St. Lucas Institute in Brussels and furthered his education at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, cultivating a unique interdisciplinary blend of sculpture, design, and abstract painting.

In 2005, he was awarded the Visual Arts Prize of the Province of Antwerp, recognizing his impactful contribution to contemporary Belgian art.
