Modernist sideboard by Belgian designer Pieter De Bruyne (1931-1987) for V-Form, 1960's.
The piece is in good condition with slight traces of use. The palissander veneer was refinished.
Height 67,5 cm. Length 152 cm. Depth 49,5 cm.
In 1953, De Bruyne graduated as an interior designer from the Sint-Lucas School in Brussels . In 1955-56 and 1957, he participated in the modern social furniture salons in Ghent and received the "Golden Badge" in 1958. During this period, De Bruyne also interned at the Giò Ponti studio in Milan. In 1959, he was selected for the Cantù international furniture competition. In 1960, De Bruyne won a prize in the European Arflex-Domus competition in Milan for seat designs and was awarded a prize in 1961, also at Cantù, for a dining room design. He held exhibitions at home and abroad and carried out a wide variety of commissions. (Source: Wikipedia)
